Applications are now open for the Tipperary Town Streetscape Enhancement Scheme 2022. Tipperary County Council is now seeking expressions of interest from owners or leaseholders of eligible properties on Tipperary Town Main Street and Bank Place who wish to avail of funding under this € 100,000 scheme.

The funding is being provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development, and was awarded to Tipperary Town following a competitive application process earlier in the year.

Completed expression of interest application forms are available from the Tipperary County Council website at the link below, and should be submitted to Tipperary-Cahir-Cashel Municipal District on or before 8th November 2022. All works, subject to grant approval, will need to be completed and grant claimed from Tipperary County Council

Grant rates will be 70% for individual properties, 80% for joint applications (3 or more adjoining properties) and 100% where the work is undertaken by direct labour, i.e. 100% of materials only.

Eligible Expenditure: 

Painting of building/shopfront in carefully selected colours which will complement the host building and streetscape: €1,500


Decluttering and repair of shopfronts. (Decluttering can include such works as removing unnecessary signs, flagpoles, wiring etc.): €2,000


Careful illumination and lighting of architectural features of buildings: €4,000


Improvements to shopfront window displays and staging: €4,000


Replacement of signage with traditional wooden fascia with wooden/hand painted lettering or contemporary design: €4,000


Canopies/awnings complementary to the materials of the shopfront and building (including street furniture): €4,000


Replacement of existing shopfront with traditional painted wooden shopfront or contemporary design: €4,000


Green enhancement of entrances/ terraces with planting: €500


Total potential funding that can be awarded: €8,000
